2022-2023 State Assessments

Information provided in this section includes updates about the protocols and procedures established by the Commonwealth and Octorara to administer the Keystone and PSSA exams. Chapter 4 of the Pennsylvania School Code requires the development of rigorous academic standards and assessments, applicable only to the public schools in the Commonwealth, to facilitate the improvement of student achievement and to provide parents and communities a measure by which school performance can be determined. The provisions of Chapter 4 also require the state to develop assessments that determine student proficiency in the Academic Standards for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Technology.

The information below outlines the assessments for grade levels (PSSAs) and assessments upon specific course completion (Keystones). The Octorara Area School District will administer the 2022-2023 PSSA and Keystone Exams during the dates listed below. You will receive a letter from your child’s counselor with more specific information closer to the time of testing.

PSSA English Language Arts – Grades 3,4,5,6,7 and 8 - April 25, 26, and 27, 2023

PSSA Math – Grades 3,4,5,6,7 and 8 - May 2 and 3, 2023

PSSA Science – Grade 4 - May 4 and 5, 2023

PSSA Science - Grade 8 - May 4, 2023
