Senator Andrew Dinniman Secures $50,000 for the Octorara Homeland Security & Protective Services AcademyThe Octorara Area School District Partners with the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus to Prepare Heroes of TomorrowThe 3-year Octorara Career & Technical Education Homeland Security and Protective Services Academy and the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus (CCPSTC) have partnered together to provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for students interested in careers in Fire Fighting, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical, and Emergency Services. The Academy is housed at the CCPSTC to provide students with the latest technology and equipment available. Students interact on a daily basis with firefighters, law enforcement and emergency management professionals. Cadets in the Academy join their local fire department/emergency service department upon entering the program.Octorara and Dutchland, Incorporated have been collaborating since 2006 The partnership between Dutchland, Incorporated and Octorara establishes a true model for workforce preparedness and most importantly students become productive and responsible citizens.Octorara Animal & Plant Science Career & Technical Education and Answer Plot® Community Garden Program PartnershipSince 2011, the Land O’Lakes Foundation has partnered with FFA chapters, Land O’Lakes member cooperatives and WinField master
agronomists to grow food for people in need in the Answer Plot® Community Garden Program. Today, students grow, maintain and harvest gardens at 27 locations in 13 states. Octorara is now participating. On March 26, 2016 it was with great appreciation and thanks to Land O'Lakes, Inc. that the Octorara Area Agriculture Production Career & Technical Education Program accepted a $5,000 grant. This generous contribution will go towards the renovation of our High Tunnels and gardens.It is with great appreciation and thanks to The Dansko Foundation that Octorara received a $2,000 grant to purchase a Molder Machine for the Octorara Area Woodworking Technology Career & Technical Education Program.
